some final adjustments, and a few final touches and it’s close to done. Ran into some more issues with backordered parts but for the most past, I was able to find everything
Life stopped the build for about a week. Took the Jeep home and spent some time adding a GMRS radio. Decided to go with a Midland MXT-275 since most of the interface is on the mic. I installed the radio on the back of the glove box and tan a mic extension cable to the bottom of the dash. Used an Amazon mount on the side of the cowl for the antenna. The 3M double sided tape I used for the mic mount. doesn’t seem to like the rubberized part of the AC control trim panel. Gonna try to find a mic mount that I can affix to the Carolina Metal Masters ball mount I installed on the passenger grab handle.
Got it all dialed in yesterday afternoon. Had to make some modifications to the front Artec skid plate mount since some PSC Steering system brackets get in the way. Many skid manufacturers seem to use the same mounting point for the oil pan skid and will likely encounter the same issue. Had to notch the mount and weld in some reinforcing plates so that the mount doesn’t fail under load. In a Jeep with OEM steering, it’s likely the easiest skid install every. It’s a well thought out kit. Super nice.
