A rifle that has been in the family for a long time. I know what day it came out of the factory, I just don't know the date by heart. :)

Its in a letter around here somewhere.

It was used as a game getter on the railroad out west in the late 1880's early 1890's by a great great uncle.

Here's my old model .357 with factory brass grip frame



Ruger m77 mk2 target rifles. One on top is chambered in .22-250 the other is .223. I also have one in 6.5 creedmoor just dont have a pic handy.



Ill get a pic of the creedmoor and my 8mm mausers when my wife isnt sleeping in the same room as my safe.
 
Changed my mind about wanting to post my guns and now they're stuck :/

Holliewood, I'm liking that brass frame! You have kept it in good condition, and those wood grips are pristine looking too. The old model Blackhawks are certainly fun, straight shooting single-six's, and have great triggers too.

I hag a local guy make the grips. It had mother of pearl grips on it originally but they have gotten cracked and beat up over the last 45 years
 
Put down a deposit on a custom build today. Went with a wildcat round, .338 demon. Also known as a .338 campfire or .338-.375. Its a ruger .375 case necked down for the .338 bullet. We are starting with a winchester m70 action, a #5 fluted brux barrel with a radial brake, and a h-s precision a2 stock. I haven't decided on optics yet, ill have to wait and see if low or high mounts are more comfortable and that will decide what size scope will fit. Im already chomping at the bit to have this thing done. It should send 250 gr rounds down range in the neighborhood of 2800-2900 fps, thats creeping up on lapua performance.

Why did you choose this over a .338 Norma or Lapua? Necking down cases and fire forming is such a PITA.

Necking down brass is a pain but unless I bought factory brass id be necking down .416 rigby brass for the norma. They are all 3 fantastic performers so it just cane down to preference and the fact that I can get .375 brass rather easily. I also really like wildcat rounds.
