Show Off Your Guns!

There is a big difference between “safer” and “unsafe”. Regardless, like I said, I have no issue getting rid of my P320…I just need to see enough hard evidence that the design is inherently unsafe. I am still curious why the Flux is so popular though when it is the exact same system.

As for the Glock style two piece triggers, I can’t stand them and that is not likely to change. Not hating on the platform, I’ve just never liked the way Glocks have felt in my hand or to shoot.
Personally, I think SIG tried to design a system with a better feeling trigger than Glock. In the process... Safety 3rd.

Carrying one in the pipe…Safety 4th. ;) ;) ;) It is provably impossible for a firearm to accidentally discharge a round that isn’t even chambered. Just saying.
Even if you choose that.. which I respect.. Doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to... safely. And doesn't changed the fact SIG fucked up.

SIG may very well have and if I had a compact P320 that I carried, I’d be doing some more in-depth thinking. I’m just glad whatever it is apparently is not an issue with the 365 since I’d honestly have a hard time finding a replacement. I’d probably just go back to carrying my 229 .40 (which is kind of a bitch to conceal).

Every situation where I've pulled or even thought of pulling, it's milliseconds. I wouldn't feel safe carrying without a chambered round. In a real situation, it's just too fast. When I first carried, I thought it was safer to carry unchambered for accidental discharge but if there's a real threat I'd much rather have it ready. I don't think any LE carries unchambered.

Imagine a firearm carefully designed and tested for this.

First, LE is pretty much putting themselves in harms way, in close proximity to potential bad guys, with most every human interaction. I’d never compare myself to that because it’s just not realistic. The most realistic situation for me is some whack job in a convenience store or maybe a workplace shooter.

The reality, for me personally, is that if you are within 8 feet of me and presenting a threat, I’d be far better off taking my chances physically than I would drawing a weapon. Acting like I have the training and reps to make a millisecond draw and fire on a douchebag charging at me from 8 feet is just silly. If anything, fucking around with something under my shirt has limited my ability to respond in ways in which I do have a lot more training and experience.

None of that should be read as me saying I’m a badass. Far from it, which is why I know where my strengths are and where they aren’t.

That's exactly what I'm getting at. If carrying, it's assumed you may have to use it to protect yourself or others or you wouldn't be carrying. In a real world threat, it's so quick. Criminals use tactics just as much as LE trains for it. I just look at it as if carrying and you have to rack a round, it's just too late. I guess I'm saying, why carry if the gun isn't ready ready?

Then why carry concealed? I mean let’s get real, there is no way you are drawing as fast from underneath whatever you are wearing than you would from an OWB holster. Hell, why not just keep it in your hand, in a hoodie pocket, ready to go at all times? Milliseconds matter, right?

It’s all a trade off and everybody should make the decision that works for them and that they are confident they can implement should the time come.

The point I tried to make above is that if the situation doesn’t provide me enough time to rack a round, I wouldn’t be going for my gun anyway. Personal choice based on what I know I can and can’t do.
