Second annual Las Vegas Jeep Marathon

Was out doing the Tie Rod Canyon/Carnage Canyon run with the Vegas Valley Four Wheeler's and ran into the 702 War Machines group. Got to meet up with some wayalifers and took a few pics... here's two. The group shot is the top of Tie Rod where we hung with the 702 War Machines, nice day! If your wheeling in the Vegas area, this is a great run.

Nice meeting you swag. Looks like you had a diverse group you run with. Any picks of the blue rubicon with the sparkle paint job?

Glad people enjoyed the day...and night. I spent a couple month planning and prerunning. The last month I was averaging 3 hours on power line roads every weekend. I think I've retightened every bolt in my suspension 4 times since Easter. Couple corrections, it was 5 teams, 3 running all 4 trails and 2 running 3 minus Devils Peak. I think we had 25 rigs start. Also I believe it was 7 tires. I cut 3 (one that lasted about 20 min), an XJ cut 2 (another garbage spare that died quick) a JKU cut one just after helping repair the two broken shafts and a JK pinched his valve stem on a rock cutting half the threads off. Thanks to Discount Tire's certifications I have some new rubber on Skirmish.

I've got some pics and I did a quick video of the carnage my team took. Whitedynamite snapping a rear shaft, Tate realizing he should have strapped his axle before jacking up then failing on the down technique and my second tire cut with some mumbled curses.

Wow! Great pics Keith! Thanks for the corrections, it was hard to hear the details over the 50+ MPH winds. :cheesy:

Glad you got some new rubber. :thumb:

Next time I'm down we need to hit Logandale. :yup:

I've been laughing at my team leaders accidental course mistakes. The funniest is last year Chris screwed up Tie Rod and went around the backside through Carnage Canyon. This year he screwed up by doubling back and not going through Carnage Canyon. Maybe he'll get it right next year.

I woke up Sunday feeling like a bus ran over me. Logandale would have been painful. Definitely next time you are in town, I love that place.

Yeah that was a amazing day, and night. I think the night was even crazier. There were times I could only see maybe 10 ft in front of me doing 45 to 50 through a dust storm with at least 40 mph wind in a 20 jeep convoy. It was good to get out of my crazy life for 2 days and do something I love so much. You got to love what passionate Jeep people can accomplish! And I think we set a new record through Nelson :D. I didn't get many pics cause I was using my phone for navigation, which by the way was flawless due to Skirmishes flawless planning. Adam we missed you out there this year and hopefully we can get Mike and you on next years.

Later that Saturday night a few People did a trip up Angles Peak (back side of Mt Charleston) and they hit this little blizzard. Just goes to show how different the terrain/weather/conditions can be here in Vegas!
