Rubicon sway bar issue

I have a 2012 rubicon, when i purchased the 2012 the sway bar light was flashing. I used an AEV ProCal to turn the light off and switched over to the EVO Manufacturing No Limits Manual Sway Bar Disconnect. It works great but I really wanted to get the electronic sway bar working again. I tested the sway bar motor from my jeep on a friends and it works fine. Any ideas as to why as to what might be causing the light to flash even though motor has been tested and it functioning properly?

Larry the light is flashing all the time even in park. I have tried rocking back and forth...even took motor off and tested on another jeep...it worked there...put back on my jeep and just flashes. Since motor is good I would like to get it working again instead of using the eco manual disconnect I have on it now.

If you off road alot there could be mud build up inside the wheels. I wash mine every now and then. Also check your fuses to see if one popped up and is loose. Also, do a Instruments Light test. Insert the Ignition Key, turn to on, all lights turn ON, test and then turn OFF. Also try going into 4Hi, engage Sway Bar, Disengage SwayBar, then go back to 2Hi. And do this on a dirt bumpy road.

So a couple days ago I was demonstrating to a friend how my e disco works and as luck would have it, they disconnected and would not re-engage. Now my light is flashing constantly and I have pretty significant roll on turns. I haven’t taken it off yet but plan on t this weekend but has this happened to anyone else?

Check the wire harness on the motor... Sometimes they get dirty or wet and act up.

Is there a fuse for edisco?

Also check the connector on your harness, clean it and slap some dielectric grease on it.

My sway bar disconnect motor also appears to function, but does not disconnect my sway bar. JK, 115K miles, no issues, just started having problems.

Removed the motor from the gearbox, broke apart the gear box. No water intrusion anywhere. Grease looks brand new from the factory. Added more grease to the gears anyway.

Engaged the motor while it was removed from the gearbox. Turned it on and off, watched it operate. Bolted it onto the gearbox while it was engaged. Disconnected the sway bar link from the passenger side of the axle, pushed the sway bar up and down to make sure the gears were aligned to allow for actuator movement. Could not get the sway bar to disconnect.

Installed the Evo No Limits, taped and zip tied the plug out of the way, and it works perfectly.

Anyone have a similar issue and chase this down any further? Could the motor be dying and just not have enough force to overpower the opposing spring in the gearbox?

Well that sucks. For whatever reason, it sounds like the push rod that causes the disconnect isn't pushing far enough anymore. Even with the EVO manual disconnect, if doesn't go in far enough, your sway bar will not disconnect. I wonder if maybe it just wears out over time. I also wonder if you can just add something to the end of it to help it along.

I am curious to see if that might work.

The next time I dig into it, I also need to tear apart the gears COMPLETELY and clean everything and inspect. I’m wondering if there isn’t some small wear in the gears causing the slightest bit of resistance that the motor just can’t overcome…

Anyone know which fuse initiates the sway bar? I have the flashing light even after taking it to off road evolution. Mel had a brand-new sway bar motor laying around and put that in. No joy. He checked the wiring connections as best as he could but found no discrepancies. Didn't think about fuses until I left.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no specific fuse for it.

It's never easy, is it? Only 111 slots give or take to pull, inspect, and return. My fingers are starting to cramp just thinking about it.
