RSE Step-Sliders last Generation - Do they fit with 40“?

Hey Guys,

I bought a set of RSE Stepsliders (latest Generation) at the time my JK were on 37“ - Now the JK is on 40 and I wonder if they can still fit. My problem is that I had to cut a lot of the rear inner fender. The factory Rubicon Rock Rails needed to be shorten.

Are the RSE Sliders shorter than the Rubiconrails or if not- can the RSE Sliders be shorten?

i would just test fit them and trim whats needed

I would say they can NOT be shortened or at least enough to make a difference from what I can recall. All of the main electrical elements are in the rear of the sliders.

I’ll also say that if you plan on really using your rock sliders, the RSE one will not hold up to heavy use. You can maybe get by with the extra armor plate for mild use, maybe.

Agreed, every time I contact rocks with my I have to make adjustments with a BFH to get the step either in or out depending on where it’s stuck lol. I do appreciate the utility off the step with the kids, but it’s wearing thin on me lol.

Yea that was shotgun rider user error .. but even in Moab in only hit the DS once, granted hard on that big obstacle on Kane creek, but step was stuck in, now it’s out but won’t go all the way up. I have extra skids too

Dang! Yeah, looks like it’s time for some EVO sliders! The JL type stick out further than the JK, kinda like a step the kids can use.

Pretty them up and sell them. Would pay for a new set of sliders.

I think Foley ask if the RSE will fit on a JK with 40s … he got these already…. Not if there are better sliders on the market to buy ;-)
I think they will fit, if not - angle grinder and a welder make it fits… no really, I think they fit. Here’s a picture an you can see how short the RSE on the rear end - so if you cut the body to fit the 40s - the RSE are short enough:
