Roll cages? Poison Spyder of RockHard?

I'm not sure a trailer flop at speed is a good indication of what could happen on a trail. The physics seem different to me: the Jeep starts from a position off of the ground; the Jeep has something long and heavy strapped to its underside; and, the movement of the Jeep is constrained by what it is attached to, and also by the trailer being attached to the tow vehicle. All I'm saying is that the dynamics of the crash were not the same as a trail flop.

I'm no rocket surgeon, just a non-attorney non-spokesperson, but I'd have to agree here. I bet it probably held up a lot better than the stock cage would have. But this is not a good representation of the strength of these cages. Trail flops/ rolls would be the true test. That IS what most cages are installed for aren't they?

That's crazy!!! I read up on the jkx and never heard anything about that!!

I also agree 100% with sharky- that Is not a fair comparison of cages at all... Unless of coarse the full weld in cage survived the exact same accident.

How do you flop a trailer at 30 mph?

Brian, post up some more details please.

I've personally seen an empty big rig flop in the Washoe Valley at a dead stop (the wind was ripping.)

I suppose if you swerved hard enough (or drove off the road) you could flop a flatbed trailer with a Jeep on it...even at 30 mph.

Agreed. I'd just like more details to the story.

I had a friend that had a tire blow out on the tow rig which, with some over correcting, resulted in a trailer flop... But they were doing 55
