Rock sliders

Well, I want from a short arm to a long arm. How my LOD rock slider don't fit any more. So now I have to look at options.

1. Cut the 3rd arm on the LOD rock slider and just have two arm holding up the slider on to the frame and hope that is strong enough.

2. Cut the 3rd arm on the LOD slider and relocate it somewhere in the back out of the way of the long arm.

3. Look for sliders that works on the long arm.

Looking Options and pictures.

I know EVO's work with long arm. What about selling yours and going with EVO's? I don't think the LOD's would be as strong if you cut an arm off.

I guess I don't quite understand how the sliders won't fit because they usually all bolt or mount outside the frame rails of the Jeep. I can't see how Long or Short arms should make a difference? How bout a pic?

You are talking about sliders and not skids right?

Like Overlander said, I wouldn't cut an arm off the slider, I'm sure it would make it weaker.

Since I install the long arm. The bracket for the arm on rear is in the way now.

Have you seen the EVO sliders which are angled down and can be used as a small step? That might be your best bet.

Oh ok I see now... The arm brackets are mounted on the frame.. my ignorance of long arms..

2 and 3 are your best options, and I would only do option 2 if you want to keep the sliders forever. If you modify them you'll have a hard time selling them if you ever want to change. Personally I'd go with option 3. Sell the LOD sliders and use that to help pay for a new pair that will work with your setup. :twocents:

There are some brands that bolt to the body mounts that might work. EVO has the really nice weld on ones as mentioned and they are coming out with some new bolt on sliders.

Yeah EVO will make there sliders into more of a step for no extra charge. All you have to do is call them and tell them that is what you want and they will look like this.

Nice pic. These are exactly what I ordered for my extra tall 5' 6" ass. My legs are barely long enough to reach the ground.
