Regear shop recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for shops to perform a regear on my 22 JT. I live near St Louis, Missouri, but also travel to Northeast Texas and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. Planning on 5.13 over 4.88 as I do tow periodically and have a bed rack installed. I also do not use this as my daily driver.

Thanks for any recommendations or suggestions provided.

If you have a go-to transmission shop, ask them if they do re-gears.

You'd be surprised at the ones that do.

Smith Offroad And Performance in Carrollton Texas (a one man shop) does gears. That is where I would go when I decide to do it. Carrollton is part of the DFW quagmire.

Keep in mind that the shop will want you to return after a number of break-in miles, which may be inconvenient if the shop is not near to where you live.

Gears are gears, regardless of vehicle - look for a shop that does fab work or race vehicles.

A friend of mine had a re-gear done at Dallas Offroad. His experience was good. They have decent Google reviews if you put stock in that.

Thanks, I will check him out.

Another suggestion I had not thought of. I will see if I can find some in the local area.

Thanks for the suggestion. Not the first time I have heard that recommendation.
