Recon vs Rubicon Axles

Hey guys, I've got a couple questions that I'm hoping I can get some help with. I have a 2017 Rubicon Recon and have owned it for just over 3 years, and it's been a solid rig in all aspects. I'm currently running 35's with a 3.5" lift with other supporting mods (driveshafts, flipped drag link, etc) and want to go 37's but I'm just curious as to what the difference is between the Recon front axle and the Rubicon front axle, and will I need to truss it to run 37's? From what I visually make out, the Cs are a lot stouter, and the tubes do look bigger. Any help would be much appreciated.

Literally the exact same axle. Perhaps the previous owner did C gussets. Which are always a good idea if you’re going to bigger tires.

I’m pretty sure the tubes are thicker on the Recon.

Wondering if anyone has heard about this or seen a pic of what they have apparently upgraded. I wonder if this will be the new standard for the JL? Based on the Wrangler Rubicon model, the Rubicon Recon Edition ups the off-road ante with a front axle upgrade that features strengthened tubes and...

I’m pretty sure the tubes are thicker on the Recon.

From everything I've seen you are right. The tubes are thicker on the Recon, and the knuckles are different on the Recon over the Rubicon

My understanding is the Recon Axle is the same as the Dana UD44 crate axle.

I’m not sure if this applies to the JK. I know for a fact the JL XR has larger tubes and upgraded gear ratios, with iron knuckles. But I don’t know if this holds since he has a 2017.

Basically, after reading this what I've got out of it is that the tubes, C's and diff cover are all thicker. Which makes sense from what I can see compared to other Rubicon models.
