Re-gearing issues

also I don't know if you can see it in that picture not all that well but the ring gear the teeth on the end of it started to the form which is why the square pattern on that looks a little rougher than on the inside also the other ring gear is the stock one. keep in mind this is on the front axle not the rear and this is after 20 to 25 miles

The shipping comment was a bit of sarcasm, my sarcasm just doesnt have the same flow on a forum..lol.. That sucks that you are having issues like this Rob. Both your F/R were brand new gear sets correct? Has Yukon helped you out in any way? In an earlier comment you said Yukon wanted the first R&P back for testing or something, did they ever get back to you about that? Im no expert, but it does look like they are having an issue with their metal compound or their hatdening process was crap on that day. I imagine with that batch, you're not going to be the only customer with the same issue. I will say, the gears looked great when they were set up, cant get a much better pattern. No i haven't heard from them yet i just sent them back Friday. I wanted to compare the two before i sent the defective one back. I'm not sure what they are going to do for me when they get them back. They said they Would refund
the price if the new gears and shipping that i bought as a replacement last Monday. Not sure what they are going to do this time. i sent an email to the same rep i was dealing with before and i included some photos of the front R+P. I have yet to hear back from him. I have been dealing with the rep from 4ws.com and he has been talking with the Yukon sales rep.

Latest: just got off the phone from 4ws where i bought three gears. The guy there was helpful. He is sending me some alloy usa gears in replacement for $85 shipped via 2day shipping instead of 4. With another return authorization. For the bad front set. He claims that I am the only one that he has had to warranty out. And that two sets sent to me bad seems highly unlikely. But if Yukon goes good i will be credited back for all replacement sets in full. As of right now i an so not a fan of yukon right now. By 4ws.com had been working with me

Well finally got the letter back from Yukon... They says that it was due too improper break in i find it hard to believe that since the gears have a miller on then max. I will be calling them today to set just How they determined it.

Sorry to hear about the Yukon issues. Especially the warranty problems.

I recently broke a few teeth off my rear D44 ring gear. Precision Gears. Omix-ADA replaced the ring and pinion under warranty. I was very pleased. I was on the hook for a new install kit and install but I thought they handled their warranty request nicely.

Hopefully Yukon will come around.

I called them yesterday, talked with them and his supervisor. They said that they will not go good for them. They setter sending the gears back to me at no charge. They still maintain that it is due to lack of lubrication and/or abuse and or improper set up.
