Look at Gaia or Onx Offroad, they both have public/private land maps.
I was using Onx Offroad, and we were on the way back to camp from a couple of hours following the Texas Traverse thru the Sabine National Forest, and I am new to using it, I did not find anything on the map showing anything about were I was, just because I did not know where I was, did not mean I was lost. I was also using Google maps to get home and had taken a route that said it was 15 minutes longer to get back to camp, and there was this trail off thru a logging area. and this trail was in the back of the cleared area, So, we checked it out, the bridge was about 30 minutes off the dirt road where the logging area was. My wife was making comments about Deliverance, and dueling banjos.

Should not be a problem. We can help find a bail bondsman for you.

It was not posted, trail had not been used in quite some time, I was not worried about getting arrested, warned and asked to leave possibly, shot at perhaps, gun battle perhaps, shot and buried (it is Texas), but arrested for trespassing, na.

I used to work out in those remote areas and that close to the border, never know who has decided to take up a homestead.

I've gone into areas expecting nothing only to find makeshift homes with only one way in and one way out (backing up).

That crossing looks homemade, better to go exploring with other people when venturing off main roads - may be my age talking, not as brave or careless as I used to be lol

The crossing was without a doubt a rebuild I would have guessed within the last year by the condition of the wood and metal on it, it was put over much older metal beams from a previous structure, it was sound, and I could have crossed it, but I did not because we were alone. No one had been on the trail from when the leaves started dropping, and there were no tracks below the leaves. In my younger years, before my recent heart transplant( seven months ago), I would not have hesitated after inspecting the crossing, but we were far enough in the woods to lose cell signal, I thought better, and drove back out, which made my wife very happy. I actually think I was still in Sabine National Forest, but with no cell service, I could not tell.

Yea how homemade the bridge looks I would go with someone. Not sure if the area is known for it but all I can think of seeing that is a possible illegal Marijuana grow. Wouldn't want to stumble into that.

The first thing to do is to ditch the dependence on cell service to know about things like property boundaries. At least various forms of government vs private.

^^ Not sure I'd trust driving a Jeep over some 2x8's, maybe even 2x6's supported they way they are. That looks more like a SxS/Quad bridge.

There are old steel beams under the new 2x8 structure, I looked, and it would have been able to support my Gladiator, but without a backup along with me, I did not want to go farther while out of cell range, common sense kicked in, and I turned around. My Gladiator Nighthawk is new, only 2k miles, stock, no lift, stock tires, and no winch, did not want to cross the bridge, have a problem further down the trail, it was getting late in the afternoon, walking back out with my wife and dog in the dark,,,,,, na, turn around and head back to the camp for some meat on the fire. and a roof over my head, with some heat.

Wheeling alone has its limitations, at least for someone with common sense! 😂

I had a buddy years back who was fearless when wheeling alone, he always had bad stuff happen and he almost always called me after it went bad. 🤬

I spent lots of weekends in the middle of BFE nowhere pulling him out or doing trail fixes. Looking back it was fun, but at the time I really wanted to strangle him. 😂

The only consolation was he always had a cold beer for me when I showed up. 🍺

Was out in the middle of the desert and ran into this old guy from Montana (really had no business being out here) sunk to the frame in a silt bed.

Funny how when you're in a built up Jeep, you never give these things a second thought other than to know you're gonna create a lot of dust.

Lucky you guys were there.
