Caught the Bug
What beach you at?
Kayak Cafe. One of the few dog "beaches". It's mostly rock but Daisy needed to swim and we wanted to test out the SUP.
Indeed. Kiva is the only other one I know of. Did you get the top fixed?
.
I dunno, Frank. You look more like a Hai Karate kind of guy. View attachment 146576
My old boat, haze gray and underway. It was decommissioned in 2004, I was aboard in 1980, Engine room..
Was this the USS Bridge, the last of four U.S. Navy Supply-class fast combat support ships to leave commissioned service for the Military Sealift Command?
And who doesn't love flooding.... View attachment 146869
Hi Mad Mac, You are correct on the fast Combat Support ship, this is the USS Sacramento. we were based out of Bremerton Washinton, along with a sister ship (can't remember its name at the moment). They were supposed to be Battleships but WWII ended so they converted them to the fast combat role.
I always understood there were two sister ships on the east coast and I assume the USS Bridge was one of them.. cool. Do you know the name of the other east coast ship ?
I only know what I can Google. A Google of similar images took me to the USS Bridge and this web site. http://www.msc.navy.mil/sealift/2004/july/bridge.htm
But when I Googled USS Sacramento, the information was a little different but shared some things in common. Your Sacramento was quite the speedboat. Must have been because you were in the engine compartment.
