Got a little nozzle time the other day.......don't get a lot of fully involved structure fires in my city.....mostly pot on the stove kitchen fires.....this one had heavy smoke and fire upon arrival and was hard to extinguish due to the owner being a hoarder and the major fuel load in every room of the townhouse......although the structure was a total loss we did manage to save the two dogs who both had severe smoke inhalation but survived.....

Exciting! So the picture is of you?
It is......one of the rare moments of my fire career where I actually spent a significant amount of time fighting a fire......most of my time is spent doing EMS (85-90%) and the other (10-15%) fire related and out of that 10-15% maybe 2% is fully involved structure fires.......so it was truly a rare moment for me........my FD is very proactive and we do train quite a bit for these......so in the rare times when these things happen we do a very good job of putting them out.......

Paid or volunteer as far as I'm concerned we are all brothers......all fighting the good fight.......I was a volunteer firefighter for 5 years prior to going paid..........
Little known fact:
For fire departments, there are an estimated 30,100 fire departments in the U.S. Fifteen percent of all departments are all career or mostly career while 85% of the departments are mostly volunteer or
all volunteer.
