My ride- 2001 power wheel, 11" plastic tires, upgraded battery, boat sides, custom bumpers, tow hooks, new paint.

There are sure less fires now than 14 years ago when I joined the fire service

It is......one of the rare moments of my fire career where I actually spent a significant amount of time fighting a fire......most of my time is spent doing EMS (85-90%) and the other (10-15%) fire related and out of that 10-15% maybe 2% is fully involved structure fires.......so it was truly a rare moment for me........my FD is very proactive and we do train quite a bit for these......so in the rare times when these things happen we do a very good job of putting them out.......

Paid or volunteer as far as I'm concerned we are all brothers......all fighting the good fight.......I was a volunteer firefighter for 5 years prior to going paid..........

Little known fact:
For fire departments, there are an estimated 30,100 fire departments in the U.S. Fifteen percent of all departments are all career or mostly career while 85% of the departments are mostly volunteer or
all volunteer.

The paid guys here tell us our motto is "we haven't lost a foundation yet" , my vol dept has 3 stations and paid 24/7 paramedics but not fire. I still love helping the community, money isn't everything. Not that I would turn down a full time job but I'm too old to be hired now

No argument. My town is all vollies and so are the towns on three sides. Never had an issue. Good guys, new equipment. Still the nickname stands. Just saying.
