A buddy of mine works way off the beaten path and buys MRE's on eBay in bulk packages. Easy to pack and easy to prep when you don't have dishes or a kitchen.

They do sell civilian versions of the MRE. You can buy them online or at Bass Pro Shops or Cabelas
