It's funny cause I got a couple 9mms before I finally just had to have a 45acp. It's one of those things that just makes you feel badass!! Don't get me wrong, I love my 9mms, but every time I grab my 1911 I feel like a man!!

If that's what it takes.... Lol.

Remember 1 thing: It's all about shot placement.

yeah but remember a 45 acp will penetrate a whole lot more then what a 9 mill will, a special forces guy once told me they shot a 9 mm, .40 and .45 hand gun from the inside of a car through a windshield, 9 of 10 rounds of the 9 mill bounced back, half of the 40 bounced back and 1 of 10 of the 45 bounced back...

I can tell you from personal experience that .357 SIG is the hottest handgun round. It penetrates both door panels on a car. But I am a hell of a lot more accurate with my 9mm. I have seen what a .45, .38, .22, etc do. Once again it's all about shot placement.

I've only been able to compare a S&W 1911 against a Glock 9mm. I don't currently own any firearms and know very little about them so forgive me if I am missing something. But, I much prefer the 1911 for the way it feels when holding it, firing it, and the added safety. Also for some reason I have a helluva time pressing the release for the clip on a Glock, not so on the 1911.

The 1911 weighed more and I believe that allowed me to hold it more steady an in turn more accurate when trying to kill a piece of paper.

no arguments here, mainly its just a noise maker but personally if i wanted good placement with one shot ill reach for my 30-06 :yup:

I had a 357sig and liked it was a flat shooting accurate round ,just hated the pistol I had it in (Glock 32) .........but as far as a hot carry round I will stick with my 10mm 1911!!

Can't argue there that is quite a round. I recently sold my G32. It's much more manageable in the full size version the G31. As you can imagine it's very interesting in the compact G33.
