My guide told me to just keep fishing, this will make a great photo…that’s when I realized I was between him and the bear…
The coastal G-bears generally* have a more mellow temperament. It's thought that having a readily available high protein food source is the reason for this. The G-bears from the interior far north are generally* quite cranky especially when they are trying to 'lard-up' pre hibernation. These are the bears that are generally* smaller because of a less ready food source. They are often predatory and a real and present danger when you've got a game animal on the ground. (Apologies for all the 'generally' references.)

Did your 'guide' have a firearm?
Great picture! ;)

These bears were only interested in one thing…sockeye salmon. No, guide was unarmed…not even bear spray

I was friends with the brother of one of the designers. There was a lot of slow walking and sad singing on their team when the "committee" decided to toss a POS v6 under the hood.
V-6 would have been fine if they had slapped a turbo on it and gave it the tuning it deserved.

Or put on their big boy pants and worked with one of the manufacturers and put factory SC on it.
