Rebuild of the shop air compressor over the past few weekends.
The air tank finally rotted out and after shopping new and used air compressors we decided to just replace the tank. I did find a really nice 15 HP unit for next to nothing but don’t have the power to run it
1979 Saylor-Beall 2 stage

Got a used Speedaire tank for $100 on Facebook, it doesn’t look like it but the Speedaire is 120 gallon and the Saylor-Beall is only 80 gallons.

After little fab work and a coat of paint, had to add a bung and swapped the mounting plate for the old one. Decided to make a mount for the rotary phase converter while I was at it.

After getting it all working again we decided to mount an old gauge we had so we could monitor the air from inside the shop. The gauge came from the powerhouse at the local lumber mill when it closed.

After resetting the glass and doing a brushed finish on the bezel I googled it… I found a few for sell on the interwebs none of them are as complete or in as good of shape as this one. I’m rethinking the plan to hang it in the shop, I might just sell it.
