Thanks. Total in the garage time, probably like 20 hours. But that includes setup and cleanup. And doing things a couple times since I’ve never really built furniture before. Probably another 3 hours or so in work then I have to stain. That’s beautiful, how long have you been working on that?
Damn dude, that is awesome considering your time invested and experience. I'd be proud of it if it were my work, but if you can do it in 20 hours I could probably get it done in three weeks (or more).Thanks. Total in the garage time, probably like 20 hours. This is the world we live in. I should have kept and rebuilt the McClane I had acquired.. that probably had 25 years on it.Total fucken joke how “throw away” things have gotten. My last pusher only lasted a few years as well. Frustrating
It's a shame. My friend and I did mower rebuilds in high school. Looks like they haven't changed much. His neighbor had a couple from the 50's or 60's just sitting outside. We tore them apart and cleaned them up and they fired right up. They sounded totally different than they do today. They just dont make shit like they used to.. 2.5 year old Lawnmower takes a shit.. Come on Briggs & Stratton. I put in a New Carb, tripple checked the Magneto, new plug, fresh gas (I only use ethanol free gas) and even pulled the bottom pan off to check the PLASTIC Cam shaft and PLASTIC Governor Gear... Last night I pulled off the Head and found a valve stuck open... fixed that and still no compression. A new head gasket is on its way. If that doesnt work I’m done. I’ll just spend another $500 and move on. Having to rebuild a mower engine with such low hours is a f’n joke.

Hell even the reel mowers suck nowadays. I bought an American made one and it’s mediocre at best. That could be just the blades not sharp enough but I don’t think I should have to sharpen a brand new mower. They just dont make shit like they used to.. 2.5 year old Lawnmower takes a shit.. That thing gotta hemi!?
I’ve got a post about this a few pages back. 80 hours on a jd tractor and the head gasket blew. They might as well have used aluminum foil it was absolute garbage material, perplexes me how they allowed a critical component to be that damn cheap. They just dont make shit like they used to.. 2.5 year old Lawnmower takes a shit..
