I haven’t seen what the actual ballot looked like but I’m willing to bet the question was worded oddly to confuse folks. Exit polling I’ve seen indicated the vast majority actually thought redistricting was a bad idea. So the people are either idiots (very likely as well) and voted according to what the democrat sample ballot showed them or the wording on the ballot was intentionally deceptive.
You’re probably right. The other thing is the advertising was like 50:1 in favor of passing it. Why don't they do smart things like my generation did in high school like play with two glass balls connected with a string that we would shake up and down until they started bouncing off each other making a pleasant clacking sound. Kids these days.
California voters are very blue. There are only a few small pockets of red voters remaining.
