Damn, and I can’t even get the VA to write me a prescription for CBD or THC. They’ll hand out Barbiturates and Opioids like they’re Skittles though. Even though it’s documented that CBD has been the only thing to help relieve my chronic severe pain and neuropathy without turning me into a fucking zombie or eating up my stomach.

On long steep mountain grades in the heat, it keeps the engine cooler. I’ve never heard if a fire though. Pretty sure from Ocotillo to San Diego there are signs up the mountain.

I do it to avoid overheating and being stranded (both mountain climbs, long flat crossings) when temps start climbing into my red zone - took a while to get used to the JL running so damn hot.
If it's a legit fire, they had other issues that caused the blaze, leaking transmission line?

As mentioned, your AC will make your engine work harder and on a long grade on a hot day, it WILL cause your temps to go up. Turning it off will help keep things cooler. Of course, if you're running something like a V8 on a Jeep that's made for a 3.6L, things will heat up even with the AC off and sometimes, turning your heater on is the only thing that will bring temps down.
