Looks like he’s never maintained control of a firearm. He’s sure not in this demonstration.

I'm guessing his title was really limp wrist anal reporter and the "general" showed him how his finger in full-automatic mode feels once they shut the cameras off.

The video never claimed the AR-15 was ever military issue. It said it "used to be a weapon of war".

There's so much wrong with that video, it's difficult t know where to start. At least the general states gun collectors have the right to buy ARs.

If you want to split that hair, which war was an AR-15 a weapon in?

The M-16 and then the M-4 are "weapons of war" because they both have full auto capability.

No "Army" in it's right mind would go to "war" with a semi-automatic rifle.

A Mini-14 can do the same thing as an AR-15, but it's not black, doesn't have a hand grip, and hasn't been slung across media as the Spawn of the Devil.

"Weapon of war" doesn't mean it was ever used in war or by any military. That said, The Colt 601 had the AR-15 roll mark and 8,500 units were issued to the Air Force and 1000 to the Army and were used in Vietnam.

It's clear what the intent was - and saying "used to be a weapon of war" is implicating that it is in fact a weapon that has been used by the military

Splitting another hair. That weapon was ONLY issued as a select fire, military weapon with FULL AUTO. It is the precursor to the M-16 and is not an AR-15 in the sense the video, or the media try to present.

Colt bought the design in `59, before that Armalite owned it outright but couldn't sell them. The Colt designation IS the 601, the "AR-15" was due to a licensing agreement in the purchase.

AR-15 as the world knows it is based on the M-4, not the M-16.
