Fully agree it’s about punishing and ruining Trump.
I also believe it’s a warning to all outsiders that they will be destroyed if they dare to enter the political arena without the blessings of the Perma-Party. Regardless of what anyone wants to believe there is a ‘Permanent Washington’ power structure that believes the levers of power is theirs and theirs alone. Nobody gets in without permission and without kissing the ring. If you try to bypass the gate keepers and pursue your own agenda you will be destroyed. This is not something we want to believe but it is absolutely accurate.
