Really hope these parents end up losing money on this frivolous law suit.

A little info so you don't have to read the whole article if you don't want.

First, owners manual states the E bike is for riders 18 and over, little girl and friend were 11.
Second, California has a statute stating E bike riders have to be 16.
Third, both parents of little girl that died are lawyers in California.

Yes the whole situation is tragic, but the fault clearly lies with both sets of parents.



They won’t lose money. PI cases are almost always taken on contingency. CA juries are certainly friendly to plaintiffs and CA judges aren’t likely to reign them in. I bet the defendants settle out of court.

They'll go after the family that owned the bicycle next for negligently entrusting children to use the bike which seems like it would be an easy win, or maybe the state, county or city for failing to implement policy regarding E-bikes.

Reading one of the articles it seems like these people are more about the publicity than the money... They will continue to push until there is a law in place with their kids name on it.

The law should be called “RETARD” (Restricting Ebike Transportation And Recreation Dumbasses).
