Hopefully that NY supreme court case will speed things up for you. I have a friend out there in CA that's been going on about two year now jumping through the hoops trying to get one.

I got an email a week ago saying I was in the Final phase and should be getting a phone call within 2-4 weeks for pick up... But honestly that could turn into months or a year the way its been going. I will say, that ALL the Deputies I have dealt with thus far have been Extremely Cool... I'm actually shocked I've gotten this far. Whats crazy is it only took me 4 weeks to get AZ & Utah (+37 states).. all through the mail. There should be a reasonable middle ground somewhere within all States.

I ended up stopping the process in 2020 because I was heading out to Fl to help take care of my dad. I kind of wish I hadn’t because I got hurt and went home to recover two months later. I’m still trying to recover as best I can.

Hawaii is talking about having training requirements exactly like cops go through to get it… except there are literally no instructors or public ranges to conduct such training on island.

For sure, but the range WO that used to left former Marines shoot isn’t there anymore. It would be basically impossible to line up a range at PTA on this island, along with finding an instructor to sign me off. Current law requires an affidavit from an NRA instructor to even purchase a pistol.. none of the NRA instructors are even holding courses for that anymore. Too much liability.

We’ll see what actually happens.. all hypotheticals and hearsay right now. If it gets shitty, I have a few local cop friends here that might be able to get me in their range. We all jumped on the crayon diet together back in the day.

I was denied mine a few years ago for “insufficient good cause” even though I typed up a page and half of reasons why I want it. Total shit.

Congrats!! All the guys I dealt with were super cool too….then I got my denial letter. Lol
