Radio and cb mounting

I actually was going to get that but it just doesn't look like it will hold up over time maybe great if not using it a lot. But I intend to use mine a lot. It felt to big in the hand as well. My buddy is looking at the midland that is kinda the same but allows for going mobile with battery pack. He won't use his much and doesn't need permanent install or want it to be seen.
I have seen the teraflex jk mount for the spare tire and have heard great things but have also heard that the spare tire mount is one of the worst places due to ground plane or something like that.
I'm still new at all this and have no idea which opinions are more correct per say for what I want.

It will avoid the tailgate mount and looks like a super clean install.

I think that's what I'm going to do. Tossed between that or gate mount.
Thanks I will be ordering this week and hope to have installed next week.
Now just to find a good place to mount the big cobra 29!
