If our society wants to maintain some of our freedoms we need to understand stand social engineering and targeted media. Secretly this is used to sway peoples beliefs and ultimately their actions. When you mainly see certain information or disinformation your opinions become based on this which sways votes. Unfortunately there is a large part of our society the rely on only info that is easy to read on their apps and tv and do not research or dig for additional information other than what is fed to them.

If everyone here in the US (citizens and government officials) researched The Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, we'd be way better off than we are now. Democratic and Republican wouldn't even matter. People would be educated about the foundation of our country and why it is the way it is. People with opposing points of view would get along so much better. Seems like that's how it was prior to mainstream media and social media.

I agree about social media but mainstream media is a bit of misnomer. It’s the 24hr news cycle that has destroyed all media as they scramble to find enough content to fill the space. Hell Fox and Sky (not sure if you get that in the US) don’t actually refer to themselves as news journalism anymore, rather opinion based news entertainment.

Yes, because the content provided to you is targetting you and is all about keeping you engaged with the app so the owner makes $ off you being on their app. It has nothing to do with what is real or fake (news) but money. Pure manipulation that is not truly understood by the average person (see George Carlin post for average American).

The "news" does not exist to inform us with truthful descriptions of current events. The news exists to make money. CNN, FOX OAN, ABC, newspapers, magazines, etc, etc, are products that are packaged to provide advertisers a vehicle to sell us shit plain and simple. They are also vehicles used to push agendas. Always have been, always will be. Eating the shit sandwiches these people try to feed us is simply buying into this agenda.

The Clinton family kinda fucked themselves way prior to the 2016 election IMO. If Russia had enough power to influence American opinion because Russia wanted Trump in, they've certainly done a really shitty job controlling the media for the last 4 years in regards to Trump's reputation. So you're saying that Russia is doing all of this over again because Biden is now the guy that Russia wants in? Biden can't even tie his own shoes so I could see a foreign country using that to their advantage.
