Popping out a dent in plastic gas tank and some east coast rust porn

Anyone have any tricks for popping out a dent in the plastic gas tank without pulling the fuel pump and all? I'm loosing some capacity that I would like to get back. On to the rust porn

For the dent. I have no personal experience but I just saw a video where a guy took a pot of warm water and poured it a plastic bumper to warm the material up. He then took a plunger and was able to pull the dent out. Doesn't mean it actually works but it's an idea.

Yeah I've seen that one before. Plunger might actually work!

Is the dent on the bottom of the fuel tank? If so when u change that skid, fill up your tank and it should fix itself. That's 160 lbs of weight pushing down on the plastic.

Yeh I tried a couple things and ended up putting the tank back in as it was. Im going with your idea, should fix itself. I did get the new oem skid on after painting and cleaning the old mud and crap that was up there. IMG_20170729_190948069.jpg

Just recently I pulled my skid plate and flattened it out. After a tank or two of gas the tank popped itself out due the tank pressures while driving (tank pressure is totally normal and it's part of the reason why your evap system exists). Now I can fit a full 15 gallons in my tank again and. It just 12.

Thanks steve, I figured it would work itself out. Who needs a full tank of gas anyways
