Pet Peeves - What Pisses You Off?

I just ordered a pair of these custom molded earplugs/buds while I was at the races a couple weeks ago. Talked to the rep in the pits & told him what I was looking for & he said these are the ticket - these are what the drivers wear. They're bluetooth so you can listen to virtually anything.
Should be here in a week or two. I like the fact that I won't need to wear protectors over the ear buds.

I don't like that they are connected. I wear one earbud usually and the other charges. When that one is dead I switch them out. I like to hear what else is going on incase aliens attack or something.

I'm going for as much sound reduction possible in both ears primarily when cutting with the zero turn. That thing is so loud even with two layers of protection my ears ring for hours. trying to listen to anything is near impossible. maybe corded together will make it harder to lose one.

You tried work tunes by 3M? That's what I use and I don't have issues. I am on that damn mower like 10 hours a week.

My neighbor has a pair & swears by them. I was gonna try those until I saw these inserts.
I recommend them. I read a long time ago that no in ear headphone will block out the noise needed to not do damage long term. That's why I got the 3M ones. Started in the garage doing woodworking with them but they are great on the mower. Interested to hear about your new ones though.

How did you get your ear molded?

So to get fitted they put a cotton wad in your ear and then fill in your ear folds and canal with some kind of liquid quick set silicone. After it hardens they pull both molds out and send those to their lab to get made with the final options you order. As he was filling my ears in there was a pair of cars going down the track and as he filled one in completely I could hardly hear the car. It was pretty dramatic. Even if I don't listen to music (probably will tho) I'll have silence.

Edit: So in other words, you need to do it in person at a track or at an ear docs office - they can do the molds as well.

I've had the air pod pros for a couple years with no issues. Had a Samsung set prior to that but those kept falling out and never really fit my ear properly.

Ok, you need “him” to fill in your ears with quick set silicon. Got it.

I’ve been using the bone conducting head phones for the past couple years. So far they’ve lasted the longest. Before that I tried a slew of headphones that always shit the bed within a few months.

I did buy my wife a set of Beats in ear noise canceling buds. They are great. Sound quality is so much better.
