Pet Peeves - What Pisses You Off?

Every year I hesitate to kill those things because they're pollinators but they fuck up the house so bad. Killed a couple this week. I was at my aunt's house last week in Southern Virginia and she has a badminton racquet on every patio for those things. Works well lol.

Carpenter bees and barn swallows. Fuck those things.

We use these on the carpenter bees. Most of the local stores and roadside produce stands sell them.

I filled one hole today with WD40. It finally fell out and was stumbling around so I stepped on it.

First one i ever had i didn't know what it was and just saw the dust pile. I put a zip tie in the hole and it went in 6 inches and I could feel it buzzing. Crazy how much damage they do.

Pretty crazy. My neighbor has 1/2 wooden dowels laying around and every time he sees a whole he just puts a dowel in. Bee or not they get closed. lol But he has a painted barn and they don't like the paint.

Smart move. I've noticed every year they come back to existing holes. Like an on/off relationship.

Fire is alway a good way to get them.



They really tear stuff up. Sometimes the woodpeckers will go after them and that makes an even bigger mess.
