Opinions on AEV tire carrier

AEV Fuel Caddy & Terraflex Hinge

Can you mount the AEV Fuel Caddy without the AEV tire carrier? I’ve got a Teraflex hinge

I don’t think so. The tank is molded around the tire carrier and would not sit flat on the hinge type tire carrier. There are also support mounts at the bottom of the tank that you could not use that may lessen the rigidity of the tank.
