The situational contradictions of a new Jeep:
• Your buddy gets double-double
everywhere, "Meh. It's YEEP!"
• Light patina of dust on dashboard, "
Autozone trip? I need interior wipes!"
• I need armor so I never have to worry about some guy dinging my door.
•
Awww - Baby's first pinstripe.
• Low range carefully down the rock pile.
•
Speedbump!!!!
• Every morning: uturn across the neighbors sidewalk. :bleh:
• Carefully park everywhere.
• Girlfriend can learn to drive manual on someone elses ride.
• Clutch plate springs flexing wildly badly shifting in 4-low.
take your down payment, double it, and that a good starting point for your first few mods.
Yikes. Thanks for putting that in terms I can relate to.
If you're 5'5" or less you better give your choice of lift and tires a lotta thought.
lol. I'm 6'3" and wouldn't call it trivial to get into a jeep on 37's.
Speed bumps just got worse.
I don't understand this one. I haven't slowed down for a speed bump since I bought my jeep!
- Always have a can of spray paint to touch up the rails and for some of us fenders
I just learned this one. My door hinges took some abuse from gravel last weekend. Now I see why folks are plastidipping them.
Front door "thingy" works.
I'm kinda scared of those. The door catches kinda look like a good way to break off the top. (I rofl'd so hard reading your build thread btw. Thanks for the lols.)
To davantalus, the original poster;
I'm down with OP. Yeah, you know me.
I believe I cried just a little as I read through your list.......it's like finally being understood, I'm not really crazy :happy_crying:
Happy to have hit you in the feels.
If you have a 4 door skip the 35s and go right to the 37s. Skip the bolt on stuff and go right to the weld on stuff. Get the GPS if for no other reason than to have a screen to hook your backup camera to.
Solid advice, I'll take this to heart. I always vacillate on the practicality vs. awesome equation.
-Accept that you will never be able to call in to work again because of flooded roadways or weather aftermath again.
Ha! This never occurred to me.
