Closed knuckles do not have C's like the jk. They are a full float design
American, no yellow seal
Glad to see I have u joints and not rzettas
I'll take better ones when it's degreased and my hand can touch my iPhone

I finished the replacing the seals this weekend, which turned into replacing the bearings in the King pins, they were rusted up..
For you JK guys King pins are like ball joints, here's a couple photos to give you a visual and part numbers of anyone needs to rebuilt theirs.
King pins are top and bottom
Luckily I had my shop manual handy, as the last person that worked on the axle did not install some seals and shims
Brass sleeve for the spindle
Love the old tags on these axles

Not much of a write up, but thanks! First time I've torn down a king pin or a closed knuckle. It's easier than I thought. Now to find time to finish up the other side.
I didn't have a spring gauge as recommended by manual, so I went by feel. Guess I'll find out if it's close enough.

Thanks, I have a set of a new brake drum pads I need to send you. I find myself myself buying parts twice before I get the correct ones.

I decided to change the distributor. The original point style has a leaky vacuum advance chamber. For the price of a new chamber I was damn near to the price of a new electronic state distributor. This will eliminate the points and make it run smoother and more consistent.
The only company making new (not rebuilt) distributors is Omix. I do have my reservations about them. However this product has great reviews and the craftsmanship looks great.
They made these look like the original all the way down to the oiling cap. It's none functional, but it looks cool.

Awesome upgrade! Was this something made specifically for the FC or do you happen to know if it was used on other Jeep motors as well?

It's for any super hurricane 6-226 motors. (12V only). They have most vintage jeep distributors available. Crown also makes them for CJ's and J series(not the 6-226).
If not, you can buy a conversion kit for your distributor.

At some point before owning it, the motor ate a nut. Results, Bent intake valve. It's only been running on 5 cylinders since I bought it. It's no wonder I couldn't get it to run smooth!
Of course seized bolts in the intake
Thankfully my Dad was here to help diagnosis the issues on his vacation
Parts are on order to reassemble !
