Oil catch can 3.6 - yay or nay?

What are your guys opinions on these.... yay or nay? Or vent it out into the atmosphere.

I’ve watched a couple of vids on the new JL’s with them and are seeing a good amount of oil in them.

I would think the 3.6 would be the same in the JK’s and we all know oil in the intake isn’t a good thing.
 
LOL - I’ve been wheeling Jeeps for well over 20 years and have NEVER seen or heard of an oil can being needed but all of a sudden, a video gets posted on the internet and people have to have it 🤣

Your money, your Jeeps and if someone on social media sold you on something, you should waste your money on it [emoji1303]

Seriously what the fuck is up lately with other channels reviews being brought up here? First the Milestars now an oil catch can that is just a repurposed cum dumpster. Note: if you see it on another channel send a message to the folks that created the content. Coming on here to ask about it is a bit shitty. But by all means go ahead, we could use the entertainment.
 
Lol ok ok first of all the Milestar tire thing is pretty funny and I for one will never run them.

I wasn’t really looking for videos about JL catch cans it just was in the list and I watched a little of it and since I’m in the process of changing out a throttle body on the wife’s car and the throttle blade was covered with oil build up which is caused by the crack case venting into the intake.

That’s what got me thinking about one on the Jeep.

Guess I got my answer 😁
 
Some oil vapor in the air inlet tube is normal. Obviously over time, more will occur. Yes a catch can will minimize that but it's far from necessary and a waste of money for the most part, IMO.

PS: Pornhub shows more skin. At least that's what my friend told me.

Yeah but I thought it strange that in this particular vid there was a substantial amount of catched oil in his new JL. I can’t imagine that much getting sucked through the intake being ok. Right?

Maybe that’s just the way they operate but I would think you would see a lose of oil

I’ve been asked a few times about this lately and here’s my opinion. Is it necessary? No. Will it hurt to put one on? No. Will you gain anything from it? No.

Be realistic. In the history of the internal combustion engine this was never an issue before. Now suddenly it’s a big deal? I work with a lot of guys with high performance LS builds with tens of thousands of dollars in their engines and guess how many have catch cans... I’d say if it was really that important, I’d have seen it a long, long time ago.

My memory is shady.. but I thought some were running catch cans to prevent the Jeep from smoking when sitting at an extreme angle for a long period of time?
 
The only vehicles that need catch cans are high boost turbo/supercharged cars. The little 3.6 doesn’t need one.
