Went out yesterday with the jeep club to cut our own trees. This was the first time I've done that. Being with my wife, kid and great friends definitely made this the most memorable Christmas tree grab ever.

Back in Colorado we used to do that.

If it was allowed here in Cali, the forest would be picked bare in a season.

It’s allowed most places in CA but you need a permit. It’s around $10 I think.

Thanks for clearing it up. I haven't checked into it down here in SoCal, but it seems too many people that don't respect the woods ruin most good things eventually.

It has started here with the disrespect... as I was leaving the trail, there was a massive tree down part way in the road (which you aren’t supposed to cut trees down right next to the road). The tree had maybe 10 feet missing from the top, this tree was 30-40 feet tall. Sad that people can’t follow the simple rules of cutting a Christmas tree down.
