Northern Jeeper Build

Hey guys & gals!

First car was a YJ and fell in love with jeepin'.

been over 10 years of this and have had it in the back of my mind from the day it drove out my parking lot!

Sooo I ordered a 2016 JK.
It touched ground at the dealership today and will be all mine by the time they finish putting the fun stuff on.

Starting this thread to follow the evolution of her!

Out of factory:
JK Graphite Grey
Manual
17" Rims
3.73 gearing
Hardtop
AC
Bluetooth

Getting done at the dealership before I pick it up:
2.5" Rubicon express lift
33" Duratrac
Hurricane fender flares

Reason why I went with fender flares instead of throwing some bumpers on is that I dont have many tools and would be a PITA to do the fenders or even cut the factory ones. Fenders also need some cutting and its just more complicated process than to unbolting and rebolting. Something goes wrong, I'll bring it to the dealer...Bumpers I can do at home with what I have. Not to mention, I'm still unsure of the exact laws here in Montreal Canada regarding stubby bumpers or midwidth so I havent made up my mind on which I want on there.

Next up:
Bumpers

Most liekly going to be throwing moneys at her when bonuses come through unless some "unexpecteds" show up on my door step!

If anyone can chime in on the JKS quick disconnects, I would really appreciate it!

is it worth it or should I just keep my wrench with me with some zip-ties?

Worth it in my opinion. But still keep the zip ties. Much faster than unbolting for sure

They are a great upgrade for people with sport/saharas. I ran them for a long time before I swapped in a Rubi swaybar and would run them again if I had to.

thanks guys!

prolly going to be the next thing to go on. I doubt i would swap for the rubi swaybar. aparently you get more flex with them disconnected than with the electronic thingy on rubi's? what do you think?... that and some grab bars to give a break to the wifeys short legs haha

its in french.... i know... not a fan even if i live here haha!

says " This vehicle was specially made for Christopher Bell."

Pretty damn cool that they would put that on from factory?!?!

now theres a nut in one of the A pillars and a bolt in the other.... damn it... gonna have to take it apart tonight or over the weekend...

lesson learned... dont get too eagar to instal stuff. wait until there is some daylight. effin did this at 11PM last night haha :clap2:

First real wheeling session with the local club. it was a great run and took only about an hour and a half to get there. I realized a little late on our way there that it was a little cold to get the jeep naked and run the highway but after that hour or so, I was sure glad I did cause the sun was back and it felt like freedom!

It was a run where a lot of stock jeep usually go. being just a little over stock made it easy as pie once I finally remembered some useful things i had forgotten from the 10 years away from trailing! like an idiot I kept clutching... took me about half an hour of "WTF" to get a grip and let go of the damn clutch and just power through or break haha.

No one broke anything but one guy who got a flat on 2 week old duratracs. took a rock on the rim just the wrong way and **Pshhhh**

Great run for my first of the season.

Got my CB installed on friay too, I dont have pics of it just yet but its the same old thing... over the mirror entry level CB and works great!

GOT MY CB IN!

was a requirement for the trail this weekend... good excuse for the wife, or so I thought haha

either way, had a blast and this made life easier for coms!

I was hesitant as to where to place the damn thing but the model of CB I got is so small that its great where it is, doesnt hit the sunvisors like bigger models use. coms are great too, honestly 0 complaints and wish i could use it more often but tehre are only so many people with them in town that I know, and by so many... i mean none!

That's not what it says...in French, it says "little girl, would you like a cigarette? Have you seen any Germans? My wine is better than yours"...

ah i knew i shouldnt have used goggle transalte instead of google... :dont_tell:

since I need to put the build on hold until after the holidays (which sucks but hey...)

and i seem to have found a name for it: Snow

love winter and gonna love it more riding through in the JK.

now since the build is on hold. i dont think decals will break the bank to make the name official :p

anyone know of good places to order decals online?

Just a few pics that a buddy took during the labor day weekend treck on Mount Radar. We were 30 rigs having a blast! Hope y'all enjoy!
