North GA Forest Service Road Trip - September 19th

I actually came here to post that I didnt think I'd be able to make it this weekend. So the following Saturday works better. I'll double check with the wife, but I think I'll be good on this one. For ease, maybe the next group ride could be on a Sunday? Might help with football scheduling (College) and kids rec ball.

Sweet. Hope it works out!

Is this near Amicalola Falls?

We're starting up near Hiawassee and working down towards Amicalola. The last trail will actually bring us in at the top of tge falls.

Nice... our first vaca we hiked up to the lodge... loved it so much there we got married a couple years ago at the lodge... ;) we love the GA mountains. ..

Hows the weather, leaves changing yet? I only ask because I may be able to get the wifey to want to take a trip. .. ;)

Nice! It really is gorgeous up there. You guys would LOVE Bell Mountain. Leaves are just starting to change.

Based on what I've heard from Scrambler about his trip to Charlie's Creek this past weekend, we will be modifying the trail list. We will start at Bell Mountain, head down to Flatlands, and then head over to Nimblewill Gap which will bring us in the back side of Amicalola Falls. Lunch will be a varying deal. If weather permits, we will still eat out on the trail, but at Flatlands. If we have rain, we will stop off in Dahlonega and grab food there. Also, if anyone wants to stop off in Dahlonega just to walk around the square, we will accommodate.

Just a suggestion if you do that I would wait till you get to Suches then you can eat at TWO for lunch.

Sweet! This weekend was out due to family obligations, but moving it to next weekend put it back in the realm of possibility. .. will have to work this into out dinner conversation tonight... ;)

Good luck! Let me know if you guys can make it and what your plans are. May be we can do some other site seeing that weekend too. Lots going on this time of year up this way!

The wifey and I and our two girls 1 & 3... I was thinking camping, but not sure with our 1yr...

That could be rough, camping with a 1 year old. I would offer my place, our girls would have a blast (mine turns 2 in Nov), but we don't have enough room.

My suggestion would be the Helen area or Dahlonega area.

We know helen, we have stayed there before... we got rained out camping on our family honeymoon when we got married at Amicalola. .. interesting place helen is... but I appreciate the thought of us crashing at your place thiuu my friend... ;)

I will look in helen and the other place... will let you know how we make out...

Of course man. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help make this trip happen!
