Norcal: slick rock june 26th

If anyone comes across a red jeep commander stranded up there on the trail, its my friends dads jeep. I guess he broke his tie rod or something. Anyways i have a recovery mission Sunday to retrieve it.

Anything we can do to help? Sorry to hear about that.

If you come up Friday I'll drag it out for you.

Nah, I don't think so, I don't even know the details, i was just asked to help this Sunday. Im not even sure what part of the trail its stuck on. Hopefully its still there and not tampered with.

Well if you all change your mind let us know. I will gladly help get it out.

Alright, so the plan is....

Wheel slick rock Friday. Once were aired up, at least Kyle and I are headed down to Niagara Rim. (About 2 hours on pavement). We'll camp there Friday night (possible night wheel if we can) and run Niagara Rim Sat. Niagara is a pick your poison (stock to rock) that I've run stock before.

Looking forward to Friday but not 100% sure I'll do Saturday. I've got a bunch of stuff to get done to the Jeep before the Rubicon run and it will all just depend on how much I can get done this week.

We plan to be at trailhead precisely 10am ish.

Hmmm, so is that precisely at 10am or 10am ish. You Jeepers are very confusing :cheesy:

Anyone running topless/doorless? I'm 90% I'm topless.

Most likely I'll be going topless and a maybe on the doors, not sure yet

Ken - can we meet up in disco bay?

Sounds good to me. If we are meeting in Angels Camp at 9:30am and it's a 1 hour 30 minute drive there I'm thinking we could meet up at my place at about 7:30am-7:45am. Gives us enough time to get there, gas up and grab some snacks before we head out.

Precisely, around 10 am ish. 😆

Sounds good, I'll be there at 7:30.

rampagejk is back!!!!

Please count on us - My wife and I will show up at McDonald's in Angels Camp this coming Friday before 9:30 AM from Bay area.

I just got a notification that my Cooltech CB kit is sitting at my house. I'm stuck at work. Assuming I suck at electrical stuff what's the chance I can get this thing installed in an evening? I'll start doing searches on the install and look for a write up.

Depends on how clean you want the install lol. You can do it in 1 hour or 8 hours. Really all you need is ground and positive for CB then run your coax to the cb mount make sure the ground is good and screw it together then tune. It's when you start running wires all nice and using factory harness to clean up install that takes all the time. The actual wiring is simple. :thumb:

I don't want to hijack this thread (but I am a little) but how do I get power to the CB? I assume I need to drill through my firewall to get to the battery? I'm a noob...

On your passenger side firewall there is foam just stick a metal hanger or weed eater cord through it. Not pops out under the hood next to the battery. There is a write up here for a cobra 29 that would work for 90% of what you need.

Awesome thank you I'll take a look for that write up

Cool, can you tell us an little about yourself?

Well I'm a 35 year old male who likes red bull, wine and off roading. My greatest passions are making vinyl decals and cheesecake. I'm at home in the outdoors ...oh not me :cheesy: sorry I was really flattered you asked :bleh:
