Hi everyone,
Reporting back on the noise issue I was having, in case anyone else has the same problem. The noise becomes louder by the weeks and more frequent as well.
I finally track down where it came from. It’s from the side step rubbing with the body frame close to the body mount bolt. When the jeep is in motion, minor flexes of the frame rubs against the side step edge which is in tight contact. I grind out a half circle shape on that side step edge so that they won’t touch each other.
Attached a before and after photo showing where the parts touch.
I am so happy that the noise is gone since it was getting very loud and frequent and super annoying.
