New fast back soft top fit

Caught the Bug
I put a new Best top ascent fast back soft top on my 2014 JK and while it was not easy to do by myself and in the cold I managed to get it on. The issue I have is when going down the road the part of the top that goes across above the front and rear doors on both sides raises up creating a small gap that I can see out of and let’s right now cold air in. I don’t see any way fasten it down. Anybody had this issue or know of a way to fix it? I would appreciate any input I can get. I like the top and the look, feels like a new Jeep now.

Are the plastic door surrounds having the gap or the actual fabric is lifted up?

The fabric lifts up away from the new door surrounds when driving. When it’s parked the top sits like it should. I can’t find any thing that it would attach to.

I don’t have the springs attached. They wouldn’t stretch far enough to reach their attach point. Now that I think about it that could very well be the problem. I will need to figure a way to stretch them far enough, they are short a good 4 or 5 inches. I guess I know what I’m doing tomorrow. I wonder if I fold the front section back would that help, I will try that first tomorrow .

That’s definitely your problem. You have to attach them while the top is folded back so there’s no tension on the cable.

They are a pain in the ass there’s a slot and a little stub the cable goes under. Vise grips and patience if it’s anything like mine make sure there are no small children around while trying to hook up the springs.

That was the problem, had to take the top about halfway back off to get the springs, connect them and put the whole thing back together. Sweet top, makes the Jeep look so much better, even feels like a new Jeep.
