Peripheral edema is a symptom of right sided heart failure. It's when fluid collects in the extremities from the heart not effectively pumping blood through itself. Lasix is usually given and it makes you pee the fluid off. It's a very delicate process.
I will add, just incase there is someone out there reading this that has edema, that CHF is not the only cause of Edema. There are several things that can cause it. Trama, pregnacy, acoholism to name a few. :thumb:
