It definitely gives you more room out back for the suspension as well. The drone in the Jeep is not that bad either. I ran it a few days without a turn tip and It droned like nuts. Much quieter with the turn down on the muffler.I'm looking at doing something like this too. Primarily for ground clearance, but if I can drop the tailpipe, I'll do it. Glad to hear it's working out for you. I also might get a lower-clearance cat, haven't looked much into that yet though.
Thanks Ddays! I hope I never get rid of this Jeep, it's so much fun to work on and play with! That's a sharp Jeep! I hope I don't come across a good deal on one of these because I will have some explaining to do when she finds something else parked out behind the barn!
Thanks LJmike. I have the 6" flares which offer the perfect amount of tire coverage to keep me legal.what size metal cloaks fenders did you go with for the front and rear I would like to get a set for my LJ, they look awesome on you jeep.
Thanks!Nice thread. Great looking TJ!
Sure, I used an air filter box from a Ford Expedition, and shortened one side about an inch. I used a few different tube adapters to fit the air intake box to the stock TJ intake tube. You will need to cut a hole in the cowl large enough for the back side of the air box to fit through. I forget what size it was but I used either 3" or 3.5" flex tubing on the back side of the air box into the cowl. That's really it. I used a few different online sources to make my cold air intake just make a few Google searches. I know you can buy a complete kit or parts from Spectre. I hope this helps, thanks for the complement!I know its been a while since you did the cowl snorkle but could you put on here what all you used for it. Maybe a little write up. Thanks man. By the way your tj looks sick:thumb:
Thanks!Looking Sharp!
