What's the benefit to hub rings?

Honestly there probably is no real reason to have them since once your lug nuts are torqued down they should spin true anyways

As mentioned, once the lug nuts are torqued properly they should keep the wheel centered.
IMO hub rings, by filling the empty space between wheel bore and hub, help spread some of the wheel spin/load forces back onto the hub and not just on the lug bolts.
Also, if any of the lug nuts loosen, the hub spacer will keep the wheel centered instead of allowing it move on the lug stud bolts.
I thought the bore on the slabs was larger than 78? maybe it was only the Chamber Pro II that had the larger wheel bore.
The company he called gave him two different dimensions and he had the one set in stock so I figured for $10 I wasn't out much if they were too small but they fit. The one that fit was 78.3 and the other choice was 86.1, maybe that is what yours are?

yes, the Chambers were 86.1
I've found the spacer makes lining up the stud bolts easier - I need all the help I can get when putting those 37's back on lol
That’s sucks. Does it work when you just hold it up by the dash, not behind the panel. Maybe you just need new battery.
