That dude from Mississippi
Just curious. People are always telling me what great mileage diesels get. What are you towing, what is your tow rig, and how many miles per gallon do you get? You can also add you mpg while not towing.
This is not just about Diesel engines. Gas burners post up, too.
Now, I don’t have a real tow rig, but I’ll post my experiences. Our Hemi Grand Cherokee 4x4, can get 22 to 23 mpg, just hauling the wife and I. I got as high as 12.4 mpg, hauling my travel trailer (3,446 pounds dry weight) from Mississippi to Ouray, CO. Unbelievably, the worst mpg was in the low country. 9 mpg from Dallas, home. Traffic had a lot to do with that. I’ll add that my Dad’s 2003 6.0 L Chevy gets 9 mpg, no matter what terrain, towing the same trailer.
