So... If you have modded or want to modify your 1.3L powered Renegade you probably know tuning is basically unavailable. Well... I'm ALMOST 100% positive that I have a guy who can do it. He actually specializes in tuning stock computers directly through the HEX system I believe is the term. He essentially told me anything that he can pull the stock file off of and read he can tune, and he was able to pull the file from the Renegade. He's out of the country for November working in Europe so I won't have the full monty on the Tuning until December when he gets back and we actually meet up to make it happen, but I'm confident and so is he. Once I know he can do it and I can vouch for him I will share his info. Once I found that out... I called a buddy over at Comp Turbo and discussed with them the option to upgrade my stock turbo. I purchased a used one from a Salvage Yard, it's still in great shape, and essentially they are going to put the largest billet wheel they can fit on it without causing any major issue or needing to much material taken off. He's guesstimating 20-30% more flow which with a little more boost could net us over 100HP at the wheels. I'm really excited to see how this goes... Yes it's a waste of money, yes it's a Renegade, but it's fun and I like taking the road less traveled with my cars. I would love to make 300whp with this thing as I think it would a ton of fun to toss around town.
Turbo landed... had to take a few things off then get it packed up and off to Comp Turbo. This is the used unit I purchased on Ebay, has approx 70k miles on it. ZERO shaft play and aside from a little corrosion she's in great shape. Going with the Red anodized wheel and the Metallic Grey Powdercoat on the Compressor housing like the bottom pic.
