This^^^ it is extremely important to isolate the tire against the factory rubber stops. If your tire sits off of them then make some extensions so that it sits firm against it.

Hmm, maybe I should throw one of my 37" KM2s on Method NVs on the scale that have been hanging off it for a year+. Could be close to within load capacity after all.

Says 85. When I bought mine it had 35" toyos which weighed 120. I had about four spot welds that popped then I got a tire carrier.

It's very important that your new tire/wheel combination is firm against the rubber isolators on the tailgate. Without this, the tire will have a lot more freedom to move/vibrate and may lead to problems with the tailgate.

Been running a 35" Nitto Trail Grappler on a stock wheel for the past two years. Daily driver, properly isolated and it is still working fine.
