I'm currently running an AEV 3.5" lift and will be changing out the rear bumpstops for the 4.5" ones. My understanding is with the 4.5" bumpstops in the rear, the 37s will clear with minimal rubbing. If that isn't the case, time for the jigsaw! :) That said, the fenders match the AEV bumpers so I am really going to try to avoid cutting them.

The nittos will rub at full turn with the AEV full width bumper as they are actual 37s.

Interesting. I've spoken with a few shops that have built the exact setup I am transitioning to and said there will be no issues with the 37" Nittos.

Will the 3.5" backspacing on the Slabs make it any better? In your experience, what is the solution besides replacing the bumper? Can the bumper be trimmed? Washers be inserted in the steering stops?

Thanks for the heads up!

Maybe the back spacing will help. When i had my aev bumper on i rubbed at full lock with 35s but i only had 4.5" back spacing. Also if you decide to keep the bumper, you may scar it up pretty good on the rocks. Now i was able to get rid of mine before i did such a thing, but i have seen a guy gouge his on the rubicon. Its a nice bumper though.

My wife sent me this picture and I had to share! My 3yo thinks the tires are huge and wants to go on another Jeepin' trip!

What rear tire carrier are you planning on putting on your build ?

I am currently running the AEV Rear Tire Carrier with their fuel caddy. Should be able to run the 37s with no issues, but I will find out for sure early next week when the wheels show up.

Christmas came early today! I wasn't expecting my Slabs to show up until Tuesday according to FedEx, but they showed up around 5 this evening!

Was able to get everything mounted and just got back from the test drive.

All I have to say is.... Woo hoo! These things with 37" Nittos look awesome!

I owe a huge thanks to Eddie and Mel for putting together the Tech clip for mounting Slabs. It was incredibly helpful and made the job very easy! Thanks guys!

I was only able to snag a few teaser shots tonight before it got dark. I'll be sure to post up a few pictures tomorrow morning out in the daylight.

So jealous of how your rig is turning out. It looks great! Did you end up balancing the tires at all?

Thanks!

I haven't yet, but taking it to America's Tire tomorrow. They have just a faint vibration above 60 so I figure it's worth having them spun on the balancer. Figure it couldn't hurt.

Funny thing is even with the slight vibe, they are still noticeably smoother and quieter than my 35" BFG KM2s.

Stopped by America's Tire today to have the Nittos balanced. The worst wheel took about 5oz while the best wheel took less than 2oz of weight.

Smooth as butta now! :)

Also, let all of the air out of the tires to check the torque on the Slab rings. On average, I would say there were 8-10 bolts per wheel that were not quite to torque. They were by no means loose, however, they did turn a bit before the torque wrench clicked.

I'm down in LA this weekend for work and ended up pretty close to ORE. Had to stop by for the obligatory shot! Too bad my trip couldn't have been during the week so I could say hi.

Hoping to have the Jeep down here in a couple of weeks for gears. :)

Might be the safest time for your wallet to call in there. :thumb:
