Caught the Bug
ACE Hardware operates as individually owned franchises. So each store is owned by a local business person that licenses the name, gets marketing support (mailers etc) but does his or her own hiring, etc. I've had surprisingly good customer service, I'd say excellent, at the ACE stores I've been too. A far cry from Sears, where invariably the floor people are either comatose or retarded, or HD, where it's pretty much impossible to find helpful people in the aisles these days.
