Like the old factory hot rods used for racing back in the day. Minimal creature comforts, rugged, all the HD parts leave the rest off.

I still don't get how EVs are more expensive than their ICE counterparts. I mean an EV has no transmission, no cooling system, no oil management system, no fuel storage/delivery system... but yet they are all prohibitively expensive.
I would replace my 2006 mini cooper S (grocery getter) with an EV mini cooper in a heartbeat. Totally makes sense for where I live. I have to drive an hour to get to Reno so I can go grocery shopping and for health care and so on. Plus, I have to drive 20 miles just to get 91 octane gas for the mini. But, I am not willing to pay thousands more for the same vehicle in EV form.
