LOVE IT or HATE IT? JEEP's New Slogan - “Zero Emission Freedom”

Pretty much. Again, I have nothing against electric and in a lot of ways, think they're awesome. That being said, the horse really NEEDS to be in front of the cart in order for all this shit to work.
If we ALL just buy an electric vehicle it WILL work. Problem is that it will work only for models later than the ones we all bought.

It just takes a bit of faith.

Uh...no it won't. Our infrastructure cannot handle it for one. Copper will be depleted long before that for second. And I could go on but have better things to do.

So, on our drive out to SoCal to attend Jeep Bash, we hit some traffic pulling into Yermo. As we caught up to the slow fucker jamming up the highway and making trucks go around him, I noticed it was a Tesla creeping along at probably 45 mph and with it's hazards on. Anyway, we used the opportunity to just get off and stop in at a favorite gas station for a pit stop and as we pulled in, I saw this...

Every single charging spot taken and with people just standing around in the 100+ degree heat, humid heat too, or just wandering around inside the store looking bored as hell. There were actually more waiting for a spot to open up including the one we had seen earlier on the highway slowing everyone up. Welcome to the future.
Posted to all my Euro trash green sayers....we are doomed here! Think about it: Hybrid JL no options sold 70000€ or JL Rubicon (if you can lay your hands on one) sold 58000€+30000€ (!) green tax!!!

So, I just saw this...

And, while I'm glad to see there's a few people in the House that are actually trying to help regular Americans out, I can't say that I'm holding my breath on this one.

I read an article about a week ago. Thousands of dealers signed a letter opposing Biden's electric vehicle push. The vehicles aren't selling. Vehicle owners don't want this shit.

The real problem is that manufacturers always have to plan 5-10 years into the future. That's for design, tooling, etc and even if this bill passes, the ball has been in motion for a long time now and I don't think they can just stop it. Talking to my friends at Jeep, the worst part is that in the end, they ultimately have to hedge their bets on what the long term future will be and at the moment, electrification is it.

We don’t sell SHIT when it comes to EVs and after talking to other dealers within Car Country Carlsbad neither do they. While I find a sense of contentment within that lol, I’m not holding my breath on it either as they are already convinced it’s the future even if it’s 50 years away.

I wish Europe would follow suite and give the tree huggers the boot... might shake up Stellantis a bit who are (for now) the ultimate descision takers for JEEP...

FedGov meddling fucks up everything it touches. It almost always makes it worse and it definitely makes everything more expensive. Let the Free Market decide.
I am pretty sure if the free market were the sole driving force for the manufacturers most Jeeps would be modern diesel and 392’s.
